The Steel Bridge that spans the Shenandoah River at the entrance to the town of Mt. Jackson is to be no more. Construction for a new bridge has begun just east of the existing bridge. It’s always kind of sad to see things go that have been there so long. The original bridge was placed in 1936, however the good news is the new bridge will be 14 feet wider than the existing bridge, giving us all some needed breathing room when crossing.
I love the sign “no jumping”. Great bridge. I’m sure it has done its job well. 😀

Yes, that sign cracks me up too. There is even one n the Chesapeake Bay Bridge which is even more ridiculous.

This will be great Dawn. It’ll give you more clearance for your famed “standing in the middle of the road/bridge” photo taking! 😊
