Welcome to Week # 3 of Spring Festival 2023 where we can share images of spring from our own neighborhood (or thereabout).
The Anise Magnolia is in bloom at my local arboretum. It is a medium deciduous tree native to Japan, and obviously named for its star (anise) shape and its magnolia scent.
This challenge will probably run for 10-12 weeks, with the last week being a wrap up. You can link up here, or on any of the individual weeks.
Be sure to tag your post Spring Festival 2023 so it is easy to find in the reader.

I have never heard it called Anise Magnolia. We know it as the Stellar (or Star) Magnolia. They are gorgeous and I particularly like the pink ones.

It is! I can see the star anise shape, but I would be expecting an aniseed scent too.

Well, when I googled it said it had one but I didn’t smell it at the arboretum so I left that part out. Of course that could have just been me.
